Calibre + DeDRM
Amazon removed USB transfer for Kindle books in February 2025. Calibre's DeDRM route still exists but is limited: the original project stopped in November 2024, the community fork's current pre-release is Windows-only, and any Kindle app update can break it.
ReaderTools
ReaderTools was a Chrome extension for Kindle Cloud Reader. Its repository (github.com/prestix-studio/ReaderTools) has had no commit since August 2019 and never shipped past version 0.1.
